CHURCHES, CATHEDRALS, ABBEYS AND CHAPELS
All cathedrals are churches, but not all churches are cathedrals.
A cathedral is a church where the seat of the bishop (cathedra) is or was located. There is one cathedral in each diocese, but there may be many churches and chapels.
A church is a building that houses a permanent congregation, led by a pastor or parish priest.
A chapel is a building or room within another building used for worship that has no permanent congregation or pastor/parish priest
